After re-reading the script, I came up with 3 significant sets for the stage. Since we are not changing the scene, we have to make sure that all the scenes are on a composite set. The type of stage that I have chosen after my research is a Proscenium stage.

For doing this, I have chosen Lizzie Borden’s basement, the front side of her house with fencing and also the play ground where they spend most of their time.

I have researched on these significant environments from the Victorian Era and I have pinned them on my Pinetrest account.
Seeing many pictures and being inspired by them, I have decided that the set will be made as if the season was fall. I had the free will of choosing this since seasons were not mentioned in the script. The shadows of trees without leaves would make the script look much creepier.
This is an example of the trees without leaves. It looks very creepy. This picture is taken from Pinterest. "http://www.pinterest.com/pin/505529126894349080/"
I also decided that the set would be really simple with one significant feature for each. For the playground I was thinking there should only be one slide and a few trees. For the basement, there should be creaky floorboards and a chair or two. For Lizzie's house there wouldn’t be anything shown except the outside part, thus I will incorporate fences in that scene but it depends on the director's decisions too.
These are the type of colors that I will be using. This picture is taken from Pinterest. "http://www.pinterest.com/pin/505529126894349747/"
The color palette that I have chosen for the set has all neutral colors with browns and yellow ochers. I will incorporate some black and red in places symbolically to increase the thrill of the scene. After doing my research on these, I have a much clearer and more concise idea of what I want to do and where I am going in terms of making the product.

A Memory of Lizzie--Prop, music, costume and makeup choices

Prop, music, costume and makeup choices
Music: http://danielolsen.bandcamp.com/album/year-walk all of the music in the play will be based on this album. The music is very mysterious and creepy. It would be perfect for the whole play.
Props:
·       An axe with stains on it.
·       Red colour paint to signify blood.
·       White cloth for wall at the background.
·       A fake cat.
·       A chair and table for the scene.
·       Fake trees and grass for the playground
·       Fences
·       Backdrops as walls for her house
·       Tombstone with Styrofoam for the “funeral” game
·       A stuffed toy for Rachel
Costumes:
·       All the little girls will be wearing a frock with dull colours, above their knees. The frock will be of old fashions style with lace. It won’t be glamorous to suit their financial situation. The colours of the clothing will be shabby.
·       All the boys will be wearing shirts and half/3 quarter pants. These will look much like what Oliver Twist wore in the movie. The colours will be shabby and pale, such as shades of light beige or off white.
Makeup:
·       All of the girls have very pale makeup on. They basically just have powder on their faces. She also has nude lipstick on, barely noticeable. Their hair is tied up in different ways such as pig tails of pony tails.
·       All the boys in the play have an “Oliver Twist” look to them. They wear shabby coloured 3 quarter of half plants with a half sleeved t-shirt. The colour’s are light beige/ off white shades. These won’t be glamorous either to suit their financial state.

Setting of Lizzie Borden Stage

A Memory Of Lizzie: Costume Design ( Lizzie)

with fluffy

I have annotated the drawings and I have written which character they are and why I chose the specific colours to signify their personality. I chose simple dresses since they aren’t well off and fancy dresses would change the setting of the scene. Since the setting of the play took place in the late 1800s, the style of clothing is quite Victorian. This means they wore long fluffy frocks

arms. They had different types of materials in clothing and also unique designs aswell.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I used these drawings as inspirations for my product. I looked up images from the Victorian era which inspired the drawings that I have made. I took help from the types of frocks they used to wear and also some of the types of designs and lengths. I know that Lizzie and her friends aren’t well off thus I didn’t add too much detail to the dresses and made it quite simple with colors that match the set
ting i.e blacks and browns.

My Interests In Drama

 My Interests In Drama

I remember taking part in my first play when I was in 4th grade. It was Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. I didn't have any major roles in the play since I was just an "Oompa Loompa" but I'll always remember that experience. I guess I've always had a passion for being under the spot light and hearing people clap for me.
I enjoy watching plays too. When I went to New Work in 2010, I watched my first play which was Spamalot by Monty Python. I enjoyed it tons and I remember convincing my parents to take me to watch Lion King too!     I like Drama because it helps build confidence in people. These are lifelong lessons which help us in any aspect of our lives.Drama helped me get rid of the shyness that I used to possess which in turn helped me become a better speaker. I feel like it’s the one class where everyone shows their true self and isn't afraid of being what they want to be.
